Our 200-year-old Andalusian finca is surrounded by nature at the gateway to the Montes de Málaga Natural Park. It’s a slightly hidden place where you can slow down, breathe and enjoy a few days away from the crowds, while Málaga and the Costa del Sol are still around an hour away.
Sleep surrounded by nature
Some guests come as a couple to switch off for a few days. Others arrive with their family or their dog, to walk in the mountains or simply to do very little at all. That works perfectly well too.
Days here tend to start slowly, often over breakfast, before heading out to explore or simply staying around the finca. When the weather gets warmer, the swimming pool naturally becomes one of the favourite places to spend the afternoon: a few sun loungers, mountains all around and very little else to hear.
A different way to discover Málaga
There is Málaga itself, with its restaurants, museums and the Mediterranean. And then there is the countryside behind it, with white villages, winding roads and much wilder landscapes.
From Finca Serrato, you can spend the day exploring Málaga or the Costa del Sol and return to the peace of the mountains in the evening.
If you would rather stay close to nature, there are plenty of walking trails and routes to explore throughout the Montes de Málaga.
A place to slow down
You can start the morning with breakfast, order some homemade tapas, enjoy the outdoor spaces, have a barbecue or simply find a quiet corner with a book and look out over the mountains.
Wi-Fi and parking are free, pets are welcome at no extra charge and transfers can also be arranged on request.
Finca Serrato isn't a seaside resort, and it doesn't try to be. It's more of a hidden place for people who enjoy nature, quiet surroundings and that wonderful feeling of being far away from everything.
A quieter, wilder and perhaps slightly more authentic side of Andalusia.

Can I visit Málaga while staying in the countryside?
Absolutely, and this is something many of our guests enjoy. You can spend the day exploring Málaga or the Costa del Sol and return to the peace of the finca in the evening. Málaga is around an hour away.
Do I need a car to stay at Finca Serrato?
We strongly recommend having a car. We are in the countryside and part of Finca Serrato's charm is its secluded location. A car also gives you much more freedom to explore the surrounding villages, mountains and coast. Transfers can also be arranged on request.
Can I go hiking around Finca Serrato?
Yes. We are in the Montes de Málaga, a wonderful area for walking and discovering the landscapes of inland Andalusia. There are plenty of walking trails and routes to explore in the surrounding area.
Is Finca Serrato a good place for couples?
Yes. The peaceful surroundings, nature and secluded setting make the finca particularly suited to a few days away together. Some of our accommodation is especially well suited to couples.
Is Finca Serrato suitable for families?
Yes. We have independent apartments that can accommodate up to four people, among our other accommodation. The swimming pool and outdoor spaces also make it easy to enjoy the finca as a family.
Are dogs welcome at Finca Serrato?
Yes. Pets are welcome and there is no additional charge for bringing them. The surrounding countryside also makes Finca Serrato a particularly enjoyable place to stay when travelling with a dog.
How far is Finca Serrato from the beaches of the Costa del Sol?
We are in the mountains rather than on the coast, so reaching the beaches requires a day trip. That's also part of the appeal: you can enjoy the Costa del Sol during the day and return to the peace of the mountains in the evening.
