Yoga & Shiatsu
Besides being a host at Finca Serrato, Marie-Claire is a yoga teacher and Shiatsu masseuse. On a daily basis – in the morning and/or in the evening – she teaches various yoga classes like Gentle/Slow Flow, Yin Yang Yoga, Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra (find out more about the yoga styles below). Her teaching style is being described as personal, warm and down-to-earth. The classes are safe and accessible for all ages and levels. If the weather is good the classes will be outside in the fresh air, in case of rain or extreme heat the classes will take place in an atmospheric interior space. The costs for a yoga class including mat rental are 15 euros.
Next to the daily yoga classes we also organize retreats, mini retreats (one to two days) and thematic yoga- and or meditation sessions. Keep an eye on our agenda for all our activities. On request you can book a Shiatsu massage provided by Marie-Claire. Shiatsu massage is a Japanese type of bodywork that is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The focus of the massage is on the stimulation of the free flow of blood and energy in the meridians, muscles, joints and connective tissue. A Shiatsu massage is nourishing for body, mind and soul: afterwards your battery is recharged again and you’ll feel super relaxed. The massage takes place on a futon, which is a thin type of mattress. During the treatment it is recommended to wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothes. The costs for a 45 minute Shiatsu massage are 35 euros.
Yin Yoga is a more meditative type of yoga. That’s primarily because we hold the poses for a longer period of time (at least 3 minutes), meaning there is more time to turn inwards. The stretches penetrate deep into the body and are targeted at the meridians, connective tissue and joints.
A gentle and energizing flow to start your day and awaken your body and mind in a mindful way. By synchronizing breath with slow and steady movements, you’ll experience more awareness and space within. This class will definitely get into the flow!
Yin Yang yoga
Best of both worlds! This class starts with a more active ‘yang’ part in which you’ll work on strength and endurance. Halfway we transition into the ‘yin’ part in which we will apply deep stretches to the body and calm down the mind. An ideal mix of effort and ease.
Yoga Nidra is like the highest art of relaxation and is also known as sleep yoga. The only thing you have to do is laying down and listen to a guided meditation. This meditation will bring you in a state of deep relaxation, in which you will get access to your own inner wisdom.
